I am 50 years young and was born in Gillingham Medway, but I now live with my partner Mandy in Wingmore, Elham near Canterbury and I am a proud Man of Kent.
I have been a railman for 33 years and currently I am a High Speed Train Driver for Southeastern Railways working at Ashford Kent. I have always been a keen walker out exploring from a young age, but I also like football, sea fishing, metal detecting, I am a member of the Society of Thames Mudlarks and admin for the Wrong Roaders Walking Club a railway based walking club in the southeast of England.
I have walked many trails, paths and climbed many peaks and walking for me really is a major part of my life. For me walking is like my church, I find it very spiritual and I get so much from it, I even get depressed and miss it when I haven’t been out for sometime. There really is something for everyone when walking, history, architecture, engineering, geology, nature, plants, animals, scenery, food, drink and much more.
For me you either get walking or you don’t and I like all walks from local trails near me such as the Elham Valley Way to stamina testing treks in the wilds of Scotland camping.
Thank You & Best Regards Shaun.
